Obidient and Kwankwasiyya movements consider alignment with NDC as coalition talks intensify

Political realignments are reportedly gathering momentum ahead of upcoming electoral deadlines, with the Obidient Movement and the Kwankwasiyya Movement said to be exploring possible alignment with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as discussions over broader opposition coalitions continue.

According to emerging reports, both grassroots political blocs—known for their strong followings among youth and regional supporters—are weighing strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening their influence ahead of the next election cycle.

At the same time, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is also reportedly considering different coalition options as political stakeholders reposition themselves ahead of the submission deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

While details of any formal agreements remain unclear, the developments point to increasing efforts among opposition-aligned groups to consolidate support and form stronger electoral blocs.

Analysts say the coming weeks could be decisive, as parties and movements finalize alliances before official candidate and coalition filings close.
