Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election, insisting that the president never legitimately won the 2023 polls.
Abaribe, a former Senate Minority Leader, made the assertion while reacting to the current political climate in the country and the performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government.
According to the Abia South senator, the outcome of the 2023 presidential election did not reflect the will of the Nigerian people, alleging that widespread irregularities and electoral malpractice undermined the credibility of the process.
He argued that worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and declining public trust in governance under the Tinubu administration would make it impossible for the ruling party to retain power in the next general election.
Abaribe further stated that Nigerians are becoming increasingly politically conscious and would vote differently in 2027, adding that opposition parties must remain united to offer a credible alternative to the APC.
The presidency and the ruling party are yet to officially respond to the senator’s comments.
