The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced the introduction of a credit facility for oil marketers, alongside plans to commence free delivery of petroleum products in the coming days.
The refinery said the initiative, supported by recent price reductions, is part of its broader marketing strategy aimed at driving patronage, easing distribution challenges, and incentivising petrol station owners and fuel distributors across the country.
On December 12, the refinery reduced the ex-gantry price of petrol to N699 per litre, representing a N129 cut from the previous price of N828 per litre. The price slash has since triggered increased interest from marketers seeking to source products directly from the facility.
In a notice issued on Friday, the Dangote Refinery invited petrol station owners and dealers nationwide to register their outlets to benefit from the new pricing structure and forthcoming delivery support.
Industry analysts say the combined offer of competitive pricing, credit support, and free product delivery could significantly ease cash-flow pressures on marketers, improve fuel availability, and help stabilise pump prices across different regions.
The development is also seen as a boost to domestic refining, as the Dangote Refinery continues to position itself as a major supplier in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market, reducing reliance on imported fuel and strengthening local supply chains.
