“Tinubu will lose only if election is held on social media” — Gov. Uba Sani

 Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would only lose the 2027 presidential election if voting were conducted on social media rather than at physical polling units.

Speaking on the strength of the ruling party and its grassroots structure, Sani argued that online narratives often do not reflect the realities on the ground. According to him, electoral outcomes in Nigeria are determined by actual voter turnout across communities, not by opinions expressed on platforms like X (Twitter) or Facebook.

He maintained that the All Progressives Congress (APC) retains significant support nationwide, particularly at the local level, suggesting that opposition strength is often exaggerated in digital spaces.

The comment has stirred debate, with critics saying it downplays the growing influence of online political engagement, while supporters argue it highlights the difference between internet sentiment and real-world voting behavior.
