Hyacinth Alia has successfully passed the screening exercise conducted by the All Progressives Congress and has been cleared to participate in the party’s governorship primaries ahead of the 2027 election in Benue State.
The certification confirms Alia’s eligibility to seek the APC ticket as he prepares to contest for a second term under the ruling party’s platform. Party officials said the screening process examined aspirants’ qualifications, party loyalty and compliance with constitutional requirements.
Supporters of the governor have described the development as a major boost for his re-election ambition, citing ongoing infrastructure projects and reforms under his administration. Political observers also see his clearance as an indication of continued backing within key structures of the party in Benue State.
The APC is expected to conduct its governorship primaries alongside preparations for other elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
