President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has summoned the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, for an urgent meeting following the recent violent attack in Jos.
The presidency said the meeting is aimed at assessing the security situation and coordinating a stronger response to curb further violence in the state. Tinubu reportedly expressed deep concern over the attack, condemning the loss of lives and destruction of property.
The Federal Government assured Nigerians that security agencies have been directed to intensify operations in affected areas, track down those responsible, and ensure they are brought to justice. Authorities also emphasized the need for collaboration between federal and state governments to restore peace and stability.
Governor Mutfwang is expected to brief the president on the situation on the ground, including measures already taken by the state government and areas where federal support is needed.
