The uncle of British-Nigerian boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, has alleged that bystanders stole the boxer’s mobile phone at the scene of a tragic car accident in Nigeria, instead of offering immediate help.
Speaking about the incident, Joshua’s uncle described the experience as traumatic, lamenting what he called the lack of compassion shown by some people present at the scene. According to him, while the accident caused panic and distress, some bystanders allegedly took advantage of the situation by stealing Joshua’s phone.
He said the action added to the emotional strain faced by the family, noting that moments of emergency should prompt support and solidarity rather than exploitation.
