Residents of Gaza’s southern city of Khan Yunis are facing renewed fears of displacement following fresh Israeli strikes near the so-called “Yellow Line,” despite an existing ceasefire agreement.
Local sources said the strikes occurred close to areas where thousands of displaced families had sought refuge after fleeing earlier bombardments. The development has heightened anxiety among civilians who say they have nowhere left to go after months of repeated displacement.
Families living in makeshift shelters described scenes of panic as explosions were heard nearby, forcing some residents to consider moving again amid already dire humanitarian conditions. Many of the affected areas lack basic services, including food, clean water and medical care.
Aid workers warn that further displacement could worsen the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where overcrowded shelters and limited resources have left civilians extremely vulnerable. Human rights groups have also raised concerns about the safety of civilians and the fragile nature of the ceasefire.
As tensions persist, residents of Khan Yunis say they remain trapped between fear of renewed violence and the absence of safe alternatives, underscoring the ongoing uncertainty facing Gaza’s civilian population.
