Education Remains the Cornerstone of Nigeria’s Development — President Tinubu

Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to education, describing it as the cornerstone of Nigeria’s national development and a critical driver of economic growth, innovation, and social stability.

The President made the statement while addressing stakeholders at an education-related event, where he emphasized the need for sustained investment in human capital development.

“Education remains the cornerstone of Nigeria’s development,” Tinubu said.

According to him, no nation can achieve lasting progress without prioritizing quality education, noting that a well-educated population is essential for nation-building, productivity, and global competitiveness.

President Tinubu highlighted ongoing efforts by his administration to reform the education sector, improve access to learning, enhance teacher training, and align educational outcomes with national development goals.

He also called on state governments, private sector players, and development partners to collaborate with the federal government to address challenges such as infrastructure deficits, out-of-school children, and skills mismatch.

The President’s remarks come amid renewed public discourse on education funding, curriculum reform, and the role of education in tackling unemployment and poverty in Nigeria.
