Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has met with former President Goodluck Jonathan as part of consultations ahead of the 2027 general election, formally declaring his intention to contest for the presidency under the African Democratic Congress.

Hayatu-Deen said his ambition is driven by the need to provide competent leadership, economic reforms and national unity amid Nigeria’s current economic and security challenges. He reportedly used the meeting to seek Jonathan’s counsel and support as he begins nationwide political engagements.
