Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has reportedly expressed support for the decision of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the Southern region.

According to the report, Kwankwaso welcomed the zoning arrangement as a step that could promote national balance, inclusivity, and political stability ahead of the 2027 general elections. He was also said to have emphasized the importance of fairness in political representation across Nigeria’s regions.

The NDC’s zoning decision has continued to generate discussions within opposition circles, especially as various political blocs consider alliances and power-sharing arrangements ahead of the next election cycle.

While Kwankwaso has not formally declared a presidential ambition under the NDC platform, his perceived alignment with the party’s direction is being viewed by analysts as part of broader consultations and coalition-building efforts shaping Nigeria’s 2027 political landscape.
