President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, for his people-focused development projects, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare and transportation.
The President gave the commendation while speaking on the impact of governance initiatives in the North-East, noting that Zulum’s administration has continued to prioritise projects that directly improve the welfare of citizens despite security and humanitarian challenges in the state.
Tinubu praised the governor’s investments in school infrastructure, hospitals and road networks, describing them as critical to rebuilding communities affected by years of insurgency and displacement. He said such projects align with the Federal Government’s agenda of inclusive development and renewed hope for Nigerians.
According to the President, Zulum’s approach to governance demonstrates commitment, resilience and accountability, adding that sustained investments in human capital and infrastructure are essential for long-term peace and economic growth in the region.
Governor Zulum, who has gained national recognition for his hands-on leadership style, has overseen the construction and rehabilitation of schools, healthcare facilities and transport corridors aimed at boosting access to basic services and reviving local economies.
Tinubu urged other state governments to emulate Borno’s focus on projects that have direct and measurable impact on the lives of the people, stressing that development must remain citizen-centred.
