Jigawa, Nigeria – The Jigawa State government has approved ₦4.8 billion for major drainage projects across eight locations in the state, aimed at reducing the devastating impact of annual flooding.
The initiative targets areas most affected by seasonal floods, with state officials emphasizing that the projects are part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, protect lives, and safeguard property.
Authorities said construction and rehabilitation of drainage systems would commence soon, with the goal of enhancing water management and minimizing flood-related disruptions in the state.
