The Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) has submitted official evidence confirming that Aaron Wan-Bissaka and other players were duly cleared by FIFA to represent the country at international level.
This follows growing controversy and questions surrounding the eligibility of some players after complaints were reportedly lodged over their participation in international matches. In response, DR Congo football authorities released documentation showing that the affected players had completed the necessary nationality switch process in line with FIFA regulations.
According to officials, the clearances were granted by FIFA before the players featured in competitive matches, making their participation fully legitimate. The Congolese Football Federation stressed that all administrative procedures were followed and approved by world football’s governing body.
The development comes amid reports that Nigeria had raised concerns with FIFA over the fielding of certain players, including Wan-Bissaka, during recent fixtures. However, the newly released documents appear to counter claims of any violation.
DR Congo officials maintained confidence in their position, insisting that the team complied with all eligibility rules and remains focused on upcoming competitions.
